We believe that we are better together, and at Tripadvisor we welcome you for who you are. Our workplace is for everyone, as is our people powered platform. At Tripadvisor, we want you to bring your unique perspective and experiences, so we can collectively revolutionize travel and together find the good out there.
Tripadvisor is the world's leading travel platform. Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is the leading marketplace for travel experiences, connecting travellers with 300,000+ things to do around the world. Our Marketing Analytics team owns the analytics stack for marketing — covering Search, CRM, Display, and Affiliate — in a high-velocity ecommerce environment where booking dynamics, intent signals, and seasonality make every data problem genuinely interesting. Search Marketing sits at the center of our growth strategy, and we're investing seriously in both the analytics craft and the AI tools that make that craft faster and sharper.
About the Role
~1 min readThe Marketing Analytics team is looking for a Sr Data Analyst, Search Marketing who is, at their core, a strong analyst — sharp with data, comfortable in SQL, and genuinely fluent in the search landscape: how paid and organic search interact, how the SERP evolves, and how that translates into traffic and revenue. Alongside that analytical core, we're looking for someone with a real appetite for AI — someone who is curious about how AI tools can speed up analysis, sharpen insight, and change the way analysts work, and who wants to keep growing in that direction.
You'll be expected to arrive with a solid command of search marketing analytics and be able to work with a good degree of independence from day one. You'll partner closely with channel owners and stakeholders across the business, and help shape how less experienced analysts on the team approach search data.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Analyze search performance. Dig into SEM and SEO data to understand what's driving traffic and revenue, and translate that into clear, actionable insight for the marketing team.
- →Ensure performance is properly measured. Make sure search channel performance is tracked accurately and reliably, and surface insights that help the team increase both performance and efficiency.
- →Support experimentation. Help design and analyze incrementality tests and experiments across search channels, ensuring results are measured rigorously and communicated clearly.
- →Track the SERP. Build a working understanding of how paid and organic search features interact, and help monitor the impact of Google algorithm updates on our performance.
- →Analyze the competitive and demand landscape. Track impression/click share, competitor positioning and search demand trends to uncover opportunities across the business — informing our bidding strategy and influencing supply acquisition.
- →Stay ahead on AI search. Build an understanding of the evolving AI search landscape, track our presence in LLM and AI-generated responses, and turn those findings into concrete recommendations for our AI search strategy.
- →Monitor daily trading. Keep a close eye on day-to-day search performance against targets, flagging trends and anomalies early.
- →Collaborate across channels and teams. Work with analysts on CRM, Display, and Affiliate Marketing, as well as ML colleagues, to spot opportunities where search insights connect to the bigger marketing picture.
- →Bring an AI-curious mindset to the work. Look for opportunities to use AI tools — for querying data faster, summarizing findings, or automating recurring reporting — and bring ideas back to the team on what's actually useful versus hype.
- →Build toward bigger business cases. Support the development of analyses and recommendations that improve search traffic and commercial outcomes over time.
- A solid analyst first — SQL and structured thinking come naturally to you, and you enjoy getting into the details of the data
- Data driven — you let the numbers guide the conversation, and you're comfortable challenging assumptions with evidence
- Curious about search: you want to understand why something ranks, why traffic moved, and what it means for the business
- A true team player — you work well with analysts from other channels, ML colleagues, and stakeholders across the business, and you're generous with your time and ideas
- Genuinely interested in AI — you've played with AI tools yourself, and you're excited to grow your skills in that space rather than waiting for it to be handed to you
- Comfortable asking questions and learning fast, without needing every answer to already be known
- A clear communicator who can turn a messy dataset into a simple, useful takeaway
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-moving environment, while still being a strong team collaborator
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related) required.
- 3-5 years in an analytical role, ideally at a fast-paced ecommerce company, with experience in Search Marketing Analytics a plus
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets
- Basic proficiency in Python
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
- Solid understanding of statistical testing and experimentation
- Genuine personal interest in AI, with curiosity about applying AI tools to analytics work
- Strong communication skills, able to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Familiarity with SEM, SEO, PPC, or content marketing concepts
- More advanced programming experience in Python or R
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered analytics or querying tools
- Experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional marketing team
