AOC Youth Kitchen Helper

Location: Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Offices – Dawson, YT

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: Auxiliary On-Call
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: March 31, 2027
Salary: Youth Wages ($19.02 - $20.57 hourly)
Closing Date: Ongoing
Under the supervision of the Kitchen Coordinator, the Youth Kitchen Helper is responsible for a variety of duties which include but are not limited to grocery shopping, food preparation and assist with cooking, assist with food delivery and clean up. This position will be responsible for mitigating allergies and dietary needs as identified by the cook.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Must be a Youth aged 15-30.
- Cooking courses or equivalent experience an asset.
- Good working knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture and traditions.
- Experience safely utilizing knives and other kitchen equipment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage allergens and dietary needs.
