As a Principal Consultant for Azure solutions, you will be leading medium-scale client engagements and complex project delivery. This position will focus on assisting with solution architecture and design, technical leadership and mentoring, with expertise in Azure, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

Leading medium-scale technical requirements elicitation, design, and scoping discussions internally and/or with existing and potential clients

Decomposing medium-scale requirements/user stories into tasks, and accurately estimating the effort for themselves or others to complete those tasks

Delegating technical tasks to other team members for multi-workstream projects of medium scale and moderate complexity

Leading and driving projects, including both on- and off-shore resources

Identifying problems independently and demonstrating proactive ownership of their solution, veting and evaluating others’ proposed solutions, and delegating ownership to others where appropriate

Proactively and professionally raises and articulates risks with the PM, project delivery team, and internal leadership

Collaborating with the project team and internal leadership on potential solutions and mitigation approaches, and participating in the related client communication

Demonstrating a proven, repeatable track record of successful medium-scale project delivery

Monitoring other consultants’ completion of tasks, helping other consultants eliminate or work around impediments, and identifying additional work for others

Assisting in winning and/or extending business by working cross-functionally with sales and delivery to develop client proposals and presentations around process and solution options, clearly explaining technical concepts for shared understanding to facilitate decision-making

Advising clients in an atmosphere of partnership at the primary stakeholder level

Proactively guiding and consulting technical and non-technical project-level client stakeholders on technical concepts or design implications

Presenting to clients in a business-focused, impactful, and persuasive manner

5+ years of experience with Agile delivery and is adaptable as required to methodologies within the client environment

5+ years’ experience leading consulting projects for large clients with three or more of the following types of projects, and is considered a go-to source of knowledge for others:

Azure Compute (PaaS & Containers)

Data Stores: Fit-for-purpose selection

Messaging & Events

API Design & Management

Integration & APIs

AI & Search

SDLC/DevOps/Platform Engineering

Performance & Scalability/Reliability & Release

Identity & Access (Application-centric)

Monitoring & Observability

Documentation & Leadership

5+ years’ experience leading consulting projects for large clients with four or more of the following tools and technologies, and is considered a go-to source of knowledge for others:

Design patterns and architectural concepts

.NET Core

Front-end development tools (Angular, React, Blazor, or comparable)

ORM - Entity Framework/Dapper

Data storage – relational and non-relational

DevOps automation: CI/CD & IaC

Visual Studio and source control: GitHub/ADO, Git and pull requests (e.g. gitflow)

Automated tests

Scrum/Kanban/Agile

Experience contributing to user stories and backlog content, including task management and progress visibility

4 or more Microsoft Azure Application Development & DevOps, AI & Machine Learning, and/or Architecture & Development certifications.

AZ204, AZ102 and AZ400 highly recommended

Outstanding ability to present to clients in a business-focused, impactful, and persuasive manner

Is a constant learner, and is proactive and passionate about seeking out educational opportunities, achieving certifications, following market trends, and overall self-improvement
