AU Accountant (D365 Business Central) - Work From Home | Day Shift

The Accountant will provide day-to-day accounting and financial reporting support, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, journals, statutory reporting support, and month-end activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of Australian accounting requirements, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accurate and timely financial records.

• Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
• Support the preparation of BAS, GST, and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Prepare and process journal entries and complete account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end closing processes and related reporting activities.
• Review financial records and identify discrepancies or issues requiring follow-up.
• Use accounting systems, including MYOB and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, to maintain and manage financial data.
• Respond to internal and external financial queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Support the preparation of financial information and schedules for management and other relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation and financial records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and documentation.
• Work independently to meet recurring deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Other position-level duties as they arise.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is essential.
• Minimum 2–3+ years’ relevant experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a similar role is essential.
• Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles, BAS, and GST requirements is essential.
• Experience preparing journals, account reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting month-end processes is essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly regarded.
• Experience with MYOB or a similar accounting system is advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy are essential.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, are essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to respond professionally to internal and external finance queries is essential.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure is essential.
• Willingness to undertake further professional development, such as a CA or CPA pathway, is desirable.
