PROGRAM AWARENESS MANAGER-STUDENT HOUSING & DINING

General Responsibilities:
The Communications Manager provides oversight for the development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive communications, marketing, and student engagement strategies that support the Office of Student Housing and Dining. This position works both independently and in close partnership with the department leaders and other leaders within the Division of Student Affairs to support, showcase, and document student experience collaborations and events. Essential within this work is communicating the robust student experience on campus to prospective students, families, administrators, and the campus in an effort to promote wellness, sense of belonging, and engagement. Experience in creating, executing, and sharing this information with a comprehensive vision and strategy across multiple platforms is essential to success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
1.    Responsible for preparing, implementing, and revising the annual communications and marketing plan; communicates strategies supporting application timelines, resident programming and event opportunities; creates targeted communication campaigns for prospective students, current residents, parents and families, and campus partners.
2.    Develops and executes social media strategies across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, emerging platforms; monitors student social sites for concerns or other feedback to report to administration; create annual content calendars to keep brand and promotional materials consistent and current; monitor and track online engagement and website use data to ensure accurate and timely messaging across multiple platforms.
3.    Collaborate with other departments within and outside the Division of Student Affairs to support the on campus experience by providing resident students with information regarding campus events, activities, resources, and opportunities for involvement, internships, career development, wellness, and recreation.
4.    Assists with assessment outcomes for the residential curriculum, student engagement, occupancy management, retention, and learning outcomes. 
5.    Recommend potential dashboard integrations, develop infographics, executive summaries, and presentations highlighting departmental impact.
6.    Oversees the annual updating of timelines, web content, calendars, departmental reporting, and other publications employed to communicate with a broad audience of current students, prospective students, parents and families, and university staff.
7.    Works with staff to develop and execute recruitment, selection, and training materials related to hiring and developing student and professional staff; prepare and update onboarding materials for the university, division of Student Affairs, and department.
8.    Actively participates in curating video and photo documentation of events, programs, and training sessions for publications, marketing, and recruiting materials.
9.    May supervise student staff as ambassadors to assist in marketing and communication efforts.
10.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
 

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Graphic Design, or related field and three (3) years of related experience is required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
•    Provides collaboration, strategic communication, and programmatic vision campaign for the department, resident students, staff, faculty, and families. These efforts may be accomplished through targeted messaging, social media, website(s), and student ambassadors. 
•    Assist in compiling, curating, and preparing assessment outcomes through reports, infographics, and other summary presentation formats. 
•    Background in or previous experience with working in a college environment, and a portfolio of previous work to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of event promotion, public relations communications, and client/student correspondence.
