The instrument tech is responsible for decontaminating, assembling and inspecting, packaging, testing, and sterilizing instruments and/or sets in the Reusable Medical Equipment department of Perioperative Services. Maintains records of loads and items being removed from the department for processing, transports loads to and from SSD, and prepares proper storage for equipment. Performs routine testing including biological test for steam autoclaves, Sterrad and System 1E. Assists Operating Room (OR) staff with needed supplies and equipment.

  • →Loads up and transports medical instruments and equipment.
  • →Ensures proper storage of instrumentation.
  • →Performs tests on and utilizes mechanical equipment in the completion of duties.
  • →Performs other duties as assigned.
