**This posting is for Temporary Part-Time PRN (as needed) Endoscopy shifts at Main Hospital and Freeway. **

**4 /10 hour days. 0630-1700 plus call 1-3x a month, + holiday.**

The In-House Agency RN Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals. Participants are required to work 40 hours/week for 13 weeks and will be paid a competitive hourly rate plus weekend differentials. To qualify, applicants must have a valid RN license issued by the State of Arkansas and 12 months experience in an acute care hospital. Experience in the past 12 months must include 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital. Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS, and previous UAMS employees must have terminated more than 180 days prior.

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in a high-acuity academic medical center. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans. Provides direct patient care in the Endoscopy lab, serving in the roles in the procedural space, Preop, and PACU.

  • →Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data. 
  • →Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • →Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act. 
  • →Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • →Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices. 
  • →Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff. 
  • →Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • →Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders. 
  • →Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
  • →Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means. 
  • →Participates in recruitment/retention of staff. 
  • →Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.
  • →May perform other duties as assigned.
