o Salary premium for Welding ticket of $2.15 per hour
o Salary premium for BCIT welding course(s) completion of $1.25 per hour
o Opportunity for OT at Double Time (bankable for additional time off)
o Evening/weekend shift premiums when applicable
o Working nine day-shifts (6:37am to 3:30pm) over a two-week period
o Year 1: 1.25 vacation days earned per month
o Year 2: Three weeks of vacation
o Year 5: Four weeks of vacation
o Year 8: Five weeks of vacation
o Year 14-18: One additional day of vacation earned per year
o Year 18: Six weeks of vacation
o Every year: Three additional vacation days between Christmas and New Years
o 9.4% of your gross pensionable earnings (basic salary).
o 12 credits of UBC undergraduate courses (transferable to your eligible dependent spouse or child); or Continuing Studies non-credit courses (the dollar equivalent of 12 undergraduate credits) in each 12-month period
o Health Spending Account of $500 per year, increasing to $650 effective January 1, 2027, and to $750 effective January 1, 2028. This account can be used to pay for certain eligible expenses that are not covered by UBC’s Extended Health and Dental plans.
o Personal Spending Account of $100 per year effective January 1, 2027, increasing to $300 effective January 1, 2028. This account can be used for eligible expenses for you and your eligible dependents, including expenses related to fitness, education, and personal development.
o Supplemental Employment Benefit for the first 10 weeks of parental leave.

Requirements

- A trade certification to journeyperson level as a Sheet Metal Worker, a valid BC driver's license and a minimum five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide quality service to all user groups within the community in a courteous, patient manner. Ability to work in a team environment and develop and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with supervisors and peers. Ability to analyze problems, identify key information and issues, and effectively resolve. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
