Location: Larnaca, Cyprus Salary: €15,600 – €22,500 per annum A well-established financial services company based in Larnaca is looking to recruit a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation & Accounting Officer to join its Accounting Department. Operating within a dynamic financial environment, the company offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain broad exposure to reconciliations, financial reporting, transaction controls, and regulated financial operations. Description The Reconciliation & Accounting Officer will be responsible for performing daily and monthly reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting financial and regulatory reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, and other internal departments, as well as external partners and service providers, to ensure transactions and client funds are accurately reconciled and outstanding matters are resolved efficiently. Responsibilities Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of client funds, ensuring accuracy and completeness Verify and reconcile financial and trading transactions, including confirmations, settlements, and payments Monitor and investigate unmatched transactions, chargebacks, payout issues, and other discrepancies Resolve routine reconciliation discrepancies and escalate significant or unresolved matters when required Prepare reports relating to client balances, reconciliation activities, revenue, and company performance Assist with financial and regulatory reporting requirements Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation Analyse fees charged by service providers across different regions, transactions, and other relevant categories Liaise with Finance, Operations, external partners, and service providers to resolve financial and reconciliation matters Identify weaknesses or inefficiencies in existing reconciliation and accounting procedures and recommend improvements Assist with the implementation, testing, and improvement of financial and reconciliation systems Support the Finance and Operations teams with financial analysis, reporting, and other ad-hoc projects Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or another relevant field Approximately 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in reconciliation, accounting, finance, or a similar position Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls Understanding of financial transactions, settlements, and payment processes Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to investigate financial discrepancies Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Professional proficiency in English Ability to handle sensitive financial information accurately and confidentially Previous experience within financial services, FX/Forex, CFDs, trading, brokerage, fintech, or payments will be considered an advantage. ACA/ACCA students or members are also encouraged to apply. Experience with client-fund reconciliations, PSPs, settlements, regulatory reporting, or financial system implementation would be beneficial.
