The University of Miami/UHealth department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biomedical Technician 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Biomedical Technician 2 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance,

calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimum supervision.

• Oversees recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations, to assure compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
• Prioritizes work load effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate medical equipment documentation.
• Orders parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
• Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems, for less experienced technicians.
• Reports and documents all medical equipment operation errors and safety issues.
• Maintains medical equipment technical library and makes updates when appropriate.
• Supervises services provided by outside vendors to ensure quality and scope of services have been met.
• Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

• High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
