We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the Fu Lab (www.thefulab.com) at the University of Miami as a Postdoctoral Scholar. The Fu lab develops and applies multidisciplinary approaches, including single-molecule force spectroscopy, single-molecule fluorescence imaging, stem cell-derived organoids, gene editing, and microfluidics, to address fundamental biological questions and unmet medical needs.
The successful candidate will be directly mentored by Dr. Hongxia Fu in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Cell and Systems Biology at the University of Miami. The candidate will investigate how biomolecules and cells sense and respond to changes in their mechanical and biochemical microenvironment. The Postdoctoral Scholar will develop and apply advanced biophysical, bioengineering, and cell biology approaches, including single-molecule force spectroscopy, single-molecule fluorescence imaging, stem cell-derived organoid models, gene editing, and/or microfluidic technologies. Research projects will focus on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate cardiovascular, renal, and respiratory physiology and disease. The candidate is expected to lead research projects, publish findings in high-impact journals, present research at scientific conferences, and contribute to the mentoring of junior trainees in the laboratory.
If you are interested in applying for this Postdoctoral Scholar position, please submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae (CV), and contact information for three references.
