The incoming physician will work closely with the Cardiovascular Division and Electrophysiology Section leadership to support and expand the University's clinical and academic missions.

  • Well established nationally and internationally recognized Electrophysiology program.
  • The position will be dedicated to both clinical and academic efforts, however, the position will have a clinical focus.
  • Clinical efforts will include electrophysiology lab interventions, hospital service, and clinics.
  • The Electrophysiology Fellowship Program Director role may be considered as part of this position, depending on experience and interests.
  • The program is active in standard and complex procedural care.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team of 38 Cardiologists (5 Electrophysiologists) and 18 Advanced Practice Providers (4 EP dedicated)
  • Strong referral base

Requirements

  • Expertise in general clinical cardiology, advanced training and expertise in electrophysiology evaluation and patient care management.
  • Proven knowledge and success in research publication and mentorship.
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and/or fellowship-training program.
  • Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology
  • Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.

  • Attainment of externally funded grant submission, experience in large clinical research trials, and experience in supporting post graduate fellowship training.
  • Evidence of prior leadership in clinical program development and demonstrated national EP leadership and/or service.

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $379,000 - $677,000 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE.  The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
