Student Employee

1. Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” Responsible-Steelrequirements are followed.
2. Development and implementation of the surface inspection systems with correlation to BRS and BR2 surface defect criteria and ratings.
3. Assist in the development of the feedforwarding of defects to upstream units, downstream units, and outside processing.
4. Assist Quality, Production, and other personnel as needed in detection, identification, and troubleshooting of quality issues throughout the mill.
5. Assist Supervision as needed per assignments.

1. Bachelor’s degree in materials/mechanical discipline with strong knowledge in data science or related discipline, with preferred emphasis or background in machine vision and/or machine learning.
2. Strong systems knowledge and understanding with the ability to interpret data with process sources,
3. Strong technical and analytical problem- solving abilities,
4. Strong communication and computer skills; ability to work independently and ability to work proactively with other departments
