The Office of Budget and Planning invites applicants to apply to a Financial Analyst job opening at the Storrs campus. Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, this position is responsible for coordinating and assisting in a variety of fiscal and technical responsibilities including budgetary and compensation analysis, payroll and procurement processing, workflow approvals, supporting assigned unit budgets, and ad hoc internal and external reporting support.
The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service and support to various departments using outstanding organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. This individual will work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment in the Office of Budget and Planning.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provides financial and technical support for the Office of Budget and Planning and assigned units.
- →Organizes information from a variety of sources for use in analyzing plans and forecasts.
- →Extracts, consolidates, and maintains data from multiple sources.
- →Serves as a resource to fiscal staff and others regarding routine policies and procedures.
- →Assists in aggregating data and relative materials for annual budget hearing preparations, follow-ups, and completes transactions for the Budget Construction process.
- →Prepares regular financial statements of condition for each unit and makes available timely and accurate financial information, including budget projections and analysis.
- →Monitors fiscal procedures for duplication, efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with required policies and regulations, making modifications as needed.
- →Responds to and resolves routine and procedural financial questions and issues, exhibiting a high level of attention to customer service.
- →Assists with special projects or assignments, which requires a thorough understanding of fiscal and departmental procedures.
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be a current UConn employee.
- Bachelor's degree in math, finance, business, or related field and four years of related experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills including experience in MS Office Suite.
- Master’s degree in math, finance, business, or related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting or in a financial role.
- Advanced skills using Excel, Access, or enterprise systems such as KFS, WebFocus, etc.
- Ability to engage, connect, and work with diverse populations and provide a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting.
This is a permanent, full-time, 12-month position located at the Storrs campus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
