Medical Assistant II- FPI at Upper Chesapeake

Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care. Responsible for chart management and patient flow. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedure and process; and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution. Special circumstances to consider an exception may include: 2 years of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field. Exemptions will be vetted by Human Resources Director and Department Director
• Medical Assistant certification (such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.) is required
• Demonstrated skill in venipuncture
• Graduation from an accredited training program (school) or 3-5 years of supervised work experience in a medical setting
• Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines
• CPR certification required

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
