Director, Conservatorium of Music

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and visionary leader as Director of the Conservatorium, a pivotal role within the Arts and Society leadership team. In this role, you will provide strategic, academic and operational leadership, supporting the continued development of the Conservatorium's music programs, research activities and community partnerships.

You will lead and support a vibrant music community, fostering a connected, inclusive and high-performing culture where students, staff and industry partners can thrive. Working across the University and with government, arts organisations, schools and community stakeholders, you will strengthen the reach, impact and reputation of the Conservatorium's music programs and creative activities.

As a people-centred leader, you will translate strategy into action, champion academic excellence and innovation, and ensure the Conservatorium continues to deliver distinctive and sustainable outcomes that enrich Tasmanian culture, creativity and community.

With strong financial and operational capability, you will be adept at navigating the higher education environment and advancing the Conservatorium's contribution to teaching, research, creative practice and community engagement. You will combine sound judgement with an inclusive leadership style, inspiring others, building strong connections and fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, innovation and collaboration.
