Responsibilities

→The RD is considered an expert source of reliable nutrition info. for inpatients, outpatients, physicians and other staff.
→The primary role of the RD is to conduct patient nutritional screenings for purpose of identifying nutrition concerns.
→These concerns may be related to malnutrition, tube feeding, TPN, special diets and physical ailments related to disease.
→During patients interviews the RD performs an assessment of diet and education needs and then gives a recommendation to the physician for needed care.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in accredited nutrition & dietetics or related field
Completion of Dietetic Internship or ASCEND approved Graduate Program
Registry Eligible Dietician required. Must pass RD exam within 6 months of hire date.
Registered Dietitian preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience working in a healthcare setting as a Dietitian or Diet Technician preferred.
