About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our South Africa-based finance team, supporting UK property management operations. This is a fully remote role focused on service charge / levy accounting across a large, fast-moving portfolio. The work is high-volume, structured and requires strong self-management in a remote environment. This role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, managing sustained workload and operating with consistency and discipline without close day-to-day supervision. Full training is provided on UK-specific systems and processes.
What you will be doing:
- Preparation of accruals, prepayments, and trial balances for service charge accounts
- Year-end financial statements and reporting
- Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Supplier invoice processing and accounts payable/receivable support
- Budgeting and financial forecasting for schemes
- Liaising with property managers and auditors
- Supporting arrears and credit control processes
- Managing queries related to service charge accounts
What success looks like in this role:
Success in this role is not just technical accounting ability, but the ability to consistently operate in a high-volume, remote environment.
You will need to be comfortable:
- Working independently without supervision throughout the day
- Self-prioritizing an ongoing workload
- Staying productive and structured in a remote setup
- Managing repetitive high-volume tasks without loss of accuracy
- Maintaining internal discipline and pace without external pressure
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Accounting / Finance (or equivalent)
- Solid experience in property accounting (e.g. levy / sectional title / body corporate experience
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-volume environments
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Strong attention to detail and self-management ability
What we offer:
- R25,000 – R27,000 per month (depending on experience)
- 15 days annual leave + SA public holidays
- Monday–Friday (SA working hours)
- Fully remote role
- Training on UK property finance systems and processes
- Exposure to international property management accounting
