The Technical Advisor I – Resource Mobilization and Asset Management Expert will provide technical advice and support across a range of program design and implementation issues within their area of expertise. Consistent with established program quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practices, the Advisor will focus on strengthening producer organizations by enhancing their capacity for resource mobilization, financial stewardship, and effective asset management. The successful candidate will support country program teams to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to poor and vulnerable communities, ensuring interventions promote organizational sustainability, improve access to resources, and contribute to resilient livelihoods.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Support the development and implementation of strategies, standards, tools, and best practices for resource mobilization and asset management within producer organizations, ensuring sustainability, accountability, and integration of gender, youth inclusion, and resilience.
- →Provide technical assistance to country program teams and partners, both remotely and in the field, on financial sustainability models, resource mobilization strategies, asset utilization, and management systems for producer organizations.
- →Contribute to the technical design and development of proposals, including concept notes and full proposals, integrating financing strategies, investment planning, and sustainable asset management approaches.
- →Support capacity strengthening of staff, partners, and producer organizations through development of training curricula, workshops, and coaching on financial management, asset tracking, maintenance systems, and resource mobilization techniques.
- →Provide technical solutions to enhance financial sustainability of producer organizations, including diversification of revenue streams, cost recovery models, and efficient management of shared assets (e.g., equipment, storage, processing facilities).
- →Facilitate access to financial resources by supporting development of bankable proposals, investment plans, and linkages with financial institutions, donors, and private sector investors.
- →Collect, analyze, and utilize financial and operational data to monitor asset performance, resource utilization, and return on investment; document lessons learned and best practices for adaptive management.
- →Contribute to building and maintaining strategic partnerships with government, donors, private sector, and financial institutions, while ensuring quality assurance, compliance with standards
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web conferencing applications, and information and budget management systems.
- Experience in project design and proposal development, including writing content for proposals.
- Knowledge of capacity-strengthening best practices and experience with program monitoring, evaluation and analysis.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and secure buy-in from individuals across diverse geographical and cultural settings.
- Good strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills, with sound judgement and the ability to see the big picture.
- Good technical writing, presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring and coaching skills.
- Proactive, resourceful and results oriented.
Requirements
~1 min read- Master’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Investment Management, Resource Planning, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Investment Management, Resource Planning, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in strategic resource mobilization, focusing on securing agricultural financing, grant structuring, and sustainable investment models.
- Expertise in developing financial models, including cost-benefit analysis, investment risk assessments, and optimizing productive assets for farmer groups and agribusiness cooperatives.
- Strong ability to engage with impact investors, government subsidies, and financing institutions to secure long-term agricultural development funds.
