Potato Handler- Weekend Night Shift

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and is currently recruiting for a Potato Handler to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on our new Weekend Night Shift. 

As a Potato Handler this candidate will be responsible for managing the unloading schedule per the direction from the supervisor and for maintaining all potato equipment. This position works Friday-Sunday 5:55PM - 5:55AM.

Key Responsibilities

• Empties potato crates into hoppers.
• Maintains water level in flume systems.
• Monitors all equipment associated with potato hoppers and flue systems.
• Maintains and operates a forklift.  Communicates with potato department on potato usage.
• Cleans equipment daily at end of shift.
• Assists other operators in end-of-week sanitation.
• Reports potato changes to fryer operators.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and skills relating to potato unloading equipment.
• Knowledge of potato types and quality components.  
• Able to receive and maintain forklift certification and perform daily required inspections.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Organized and detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English communication.
