As our Warehouse Manager at our Kings Mountain, NC facility, you'll be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, materials management, and inventory control. You will serve as the primary liaison with our third-party logistics (3PL) partner while leading warehouse and inventory personnel across all shifts. In this key leadership role, you'll drive operational efficiency, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure timely product delivery while supporting the overall success of our supply chain network.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Oversee Warehouse Operations: Manage all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and distribution, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to operational standards across A, B, C, and D shifts.
- →Lead Materials and Inventory Management: Oversee materials management and inventory control activities, ensuring inventory accuracy, proper product rotation, and availability to support production and distribution needs.
- →Manage and Develop Team Members: Directly supervise the Warehouse Lead and Inventory Control Clerk/Specialist, providing leadership, coaching, training, and performance management to achieve departmental goals.
- →Manage 3PL Operations: Act as the primary point of contact for third-party logistics (3PL) operations at the Kings Mountain site, ensuring alignment with Utz standards, expectations, and business objectives.
- →Drive Operational Performance: Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, fill rates, on-time delivery, productivity, and financial performance.
- →Lead Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize operational performance.
- →Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Investigate operational challenges, identify underlying issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- →Manage Warehouse Space and Resources: Optimize warehouse space utilization, inventory storage, material flow, and labor resources to support operational efficiency.
- →Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, food safety standards, and security protocols.
- →Support Cross-Shift Operations: Provide leadership and operational support across A, B, C, and D shifts, including coverage for managers and supervisors as business needs arise.
- →Resolve Operational and Personnel Issues: Address day-to-day operational challenges, employee concerns, and procedural issues while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- →Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with production, logistics, and other facility leaders to ensure materials and inventory are managed effectively and warehouse operations support overall business needs.
- →Support Other Utz Locations: Travel up to 50% to provide operational support, share best practices, and assist other Utz facilities as business needs arise.
- →Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Regional Logistics Manager.
- The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., consistent with the facility's leadership team.
- Hours may vary based on business needs to provide operational support and leadership coverage across A, B, C, and D shifts.
- Warehouse operations run across all four shifts, with schedules generally operating from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Materials management and inventory schedules will be determined based on operational needs.
- Flexibility is required to accommodate changing schedules, support all shifts, and address business priorities.
- 3–5 years of warehouse management experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Solid understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and distribution principles.
- Experience managing warehouse operations, materials, and inventory across multiple shifts.
- Strong knowledge of P&L management and KPI-driven performance management.
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate employees while fostering accountability and teamwork.
- Flexibility to work across all shifts and lead diverse teams.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to support other Utz locations as needed.

- Minimum high school graduate with extensive experience in house laboratory testing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a practitioner highly preferred; PCQI certification and experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite, and proficiency with an iPad.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and desire and ability to interact with all levels of the enterprise.
