About the opportunity:
Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, maintaining patient records and completing administrative duties that assist in the management of patient care. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
 
 
What you will do:
  • Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
  • Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, empower informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
  • Facilitates effective teamwork with other clinical support staff as directed by Clinical Leadership and in collaboration with Providers.
  • Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
  • Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills, critical thinking skills, and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
  • Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
  • Performs venipunctures, administers injections, and initiates intravenous therapy.
  • Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures; ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Coordinates patient care with other disciplines in the health care system and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prepares patient for scheduled procedures.
  • Monitors medical condition of patient and reports changes to appropriate provider.
  • Maintains patient documentation and communicates plan of care with provider.
  • Arranges for provider ordered diagnostics or therapeutic services.
  • Ensures cleanliness, adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in examination rooms.
  • Replaces supplies depleted on a daily basis.
  • Cleans and sterilizes equipment and tools.
  • Completes shift opening and closing procedures.
  • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
 
Experience:

•    2 years experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
•    Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations required. 

License(s) and Certification(s):

•    State of Colorado Registered Nurse or valid compact state license required
•    Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
