CNC Machinist (Lafayette, LA)

This position will be located at the Halliburton Cell division of Vallourec Tube-Alloy. 

The location of this will be in Lafayette, LA. 

CNC Machinist
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for set up, machining and in-process inspection of a variety of items requiring a high degree of skill and proficiency.  Machinist – CNC 3 personnel have the ability to machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine.  Position requires the ability to perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision. Level of machinist that could be considered for lead person.

DUTIES: 

1. Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines at a very high level of proficiency.
2. Set up and thread “all threads and grades of material” that the Facility is licensed for on a CNC lathe, with no assistance on setup and first article inspection.
3. Obtain required over-lays and review first article with no assistance.
4. Set up and operate “all” CNC machines at that Facility location.
5. Select proper tools and gages for threading or process to be performed.
6. Able to adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control as well as CNC editing on shop floor.
7. Perform necessary mathematical calculations to produce angles.
8. Understands product drawings and can produce parts from drawings.
9. Help train Machinists at CNC 1 and CNC 2 levels.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
