TheTravel is a fast-growing online travel publication, and we're looking for freelance Aviation Writers who knows the industry from the inside.

You'll cover airlines, airports, lounges, cabins, airline leadership and life on the flight deck, always from the traveler's point of view. We especially welcome pilots, flight attendants, airline and airport professionals, and aviation journalists who can bring expert insight and first-hand experience that readers can't find anywhere else.

Responsibilities

→Pitch and write original stories on airlines, airports, lounges, cabins, executives and pilots
→Bring an expert read to aviation news: what changed, why it matters, and what it means for travelers
→Track article performance and use the results to improve future work
→Follow TheTravel's Editorial Guidelines and work with the Lead Editor to implement feedback quickly

Professional experience in aviation or 3+ years covering aviation as a journalist or writer
Deep knowledge of airlines, airports and the commercial aviation industry
Frequent flyer with first-hand experience of airports, lounges and cabins
Strong research and reporting skills
SEO knowledge and experience with a CMS are a plus
