AVSG/VSSOC is growing, and we are excited to welcome experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to our team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside Board‑Certified Criticalists, Surgeons, Internists, and Emergency Clinicians, supported by a highly skilled, collaborative team of RVTs and veterinary assistants dedicated to outstanding patient care.
Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to support diagnostic imaging operations at AVSG / VSSOC in Tustin, California.
In this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of board-certified veterinary radiologists, credentialed veterinary technicians with imaging specialty training, or other designated imaging supervisors to support computed tomography (CT) studies, assist with ultrasound procedures, and provide anesthesia monitoring for imaging patients as part of our broader imaging team. During downtime, you will also assist other departments to support overall hospital operations and patient care.
This is a non-credentialed imaging support position; an RVT license is not required. All imaging procedures are performed under the direction and supervision of a licensed veterinarian and within the regulatory framework of the state of employment. Adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles is an essential requirement of this role.

~1 min read- →Assist with patient preparation, sedation support and positioning for CT studies under the direction of the supervising technician or radiologist.
- →Operate CT imaging equipment as trained and authorized, ensuring image quality meets diagnostic standards.
- →Run anesthesia for imaging procedures, including monitoring patient vitals and anesthetic depth, under the direction of the supervising veterinarian.
- →Assist with ultrasound studies, including patient preparation, positioning and restraint, and help keep the ultrasound workflow running smoothly.
- →Maintain accurate imaging records and ensure all studies are properly documented and filed within the practice management system.
- →Communicate imaging schedules, patient preparation requirements and study status to the clinical team to support efficient workflow.
- →Apply ALARA radiation safety principles consistently, including proper use of lead aprons, thyroid shields and gloves.
- →Wear and properly maintain personal dosimetry devices as required by hospital policy and applicable state radiation safety regulations.
- →Maintain the CT suite in a clean, organized and operationally ready state between studies, including equipment cleaning and supply restocking.
- →Perform routine equipment quality control checks as directed and report any concerns or calibration needs promptly.
- →Float to other departments during downtime to support patient care and hospital workflow.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum one year of experience working as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician.
- Basic familiarity with CT imaging procedures and workflow, or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to safely and humanely handle and position animals of various sizes and temperaments for imaging procedures.
- Proficiency running and monitoring anesthesia for sedated and anesthetized patients.
- Flexibility to float between departments and support the broader hospital team as needed.
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and commitment to consistent application of ALARA practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in imaging documentation and equipment operation.
- Experience in a veterinary specialty or emergency hospital imaging department.
- Experience assisting with veterinary ultrasound.
- Completion of formal radiography/CT training or enrollment in a veterinary technology program.
- Familiarity with veterinary imaging software, DICOM systems or digital radiography platforms.
