Versana is looking for a highly motivated Technical Lead to guide our Application Development team's technical implementation of Versana's real-time syndicated loan platform, including its blockchain and digital-asset infrastructure. The platform delivers a streamlined interface that provides clients with secure, real-time access to loan data, analytics, and positions.

As Technical Lead, you'll work closely with seasoned engineers, product and project managers, and UX designers to drive the technical direction, ensure delivery excellence, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. You must have a strong technical foundation in full-stack engineering, including hands-on experience integrating blockchain and Web3 technologies into enterprise systems, along with a passion for scalable and secure design and a hands-on approach to mentorship and problem-solving.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping one of Versana's product verticals, leading the design and delivery of performant, secure, and intuitive applications, including blockchain-integrated capabilities, that set a new standard for the syndicated loan market.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Architects, oversee the technical direction of a squad
  • Drive successful delivery of solutions, ensuring quality, performance, and scalability
  • Collaborate with Product and UX teams to translate client needs into high-impact, high-visibility solutions
  • Build test automation across the full stack of our software and enforce engineering best practices
  • Optimize application performance and reliability in a cloud environment
  • Implement blockchain integrations; node connectivity, transaction submission, event monitoring, wallet/custody interactions, and signing/approval workflows, using enterprise Java and Web3 libraries
  • Write, test, and deploy smart contracts (Solidity or equivalent) following established security practices; handle full transaction lifecycle; submission, confirmation, idempotency, and failure/reversal handling, with audit-friendly logging

 

  • Serve as the technical authority and primary point of contact for the squad
  • Guide architectural discussions, code reviews, and implementation decisions
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and security best practices
  • Identify and introduce new tools and frameworks to improve team efficiency and product quality
  • Establish and evolve the technical foundation and culture of the squad
  • Guide architectural and security decisions for the squad's blockchain integrations, partnering with security team on key-management and custody standards
  • Partner with Product Managers and Technical Project Managers to define scope, timelines, and priorities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders clearly and proactively.
  • Collaborate with other leads to ensure alignment across squads and technical domains.
  • Provide day-to-day technical mentorship, unblock challenges, and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Help onboard and support new engineers, ensuring consistent growth and high engagement
  • Collaborate with People Managers to identify development opportunities and provide performance feedback
  • Discover ways to increase team productivity and efficiency through improved processes and tooling
  • Mentor engineers on blockchain/Web3-specific concepts and integration patterns as part of ongoing team development

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of full-stack development experience, with strong backend expertise (Java/Spring Boot)
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
  • Extensive hands-on experience owning and designing end to end solutions built on blockchain/DLT platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Hyperledger Besu, or Canton/Daml), including transaction lifecycle (gas, nonce, confirmations, finality) and event processing
  • Strong understanding of wallet/custody infrastructure, key-management patterns, and building audit-friendly, idempotent transaction flows in regulated or security-sensitive environments
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React/Angular) using TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Proven experience leading technical projects or teams in an agile environment
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn, teach, and grow within a collaborative team environment

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing platforms
  • Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)
  • Exposure to advanced UI frameworks, charting libraries, or design systems (AG Grid, D3, etc.)
  • Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design principles
  • Experience in financial services, particularly syndicated loans or leveraged finance
  • Track record of building scalable enterprise applications within a regulated domain
  • Familiarity with compliance/security frameworks (SOC2, NIST, ISO 27001) or experience coordinating third-party security audits / custody-provider integrations (e.g., Fireblocks, Turnkey)
  • Experience with event-streaming platforms (Kafka or equivalent) for transaction/ledger event publishing
