The C1 and Engineering Tools Team Leader will report to the Business Analytics & Process Improvement Manager within the Product Management Asia function. The role will be responsible in leading the C1 and Engineering Tools team responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of product configurators and engineering tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Sales and Application Engineering Teams. This includes current applications such as Configure One (C1), PowerBI, Oracle Sales Cloud (OSC), Oracle EBS, and any future applications supporting the Opportunity to Order processes.

The role is responsible for providing technical leadership, team management, strategic direction, and cross-functional coordination to ensure scalable, efficient, and reliable engineering tools and configurator solutions aligned with business requirements.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the C1 and Engineering Tools team to ensure high performance and continuous capability development.
  • Monitor project deliverables, resource allocation, risks, issues, and timelines, escalating to management where required.
  • Drive team performance, capability development, and succession planning initiatives

Product & Tools Development

  • Define and drive the roadmap for engineering tools and configurator development supporting the Opportunity to Order process.
  • Oversee the technical design, prototyping, development, testing, release, and maintenance of product or solutions and related tools in the current Opportunity to Order process.
  • Participate in activities to validate/test and release products or Solutions directly developed in any tools under the Responsibility or developed by other functions but with an impact on products.
  • Lead initiatives to automate Application Engineering activities through web-based or other engineering tools.

Technical Governance & Solution Management

  • Provide technical leadership and governance for C1 configuration logic, pricing logic, integrations, and approval workflows.
  • Support and oversee day-to-day administrative functions pertaining to sales applications, especially C1 software and integrations among them, with a special focus on Price revisions and the changes required to permit a price revision to be successfully implemented by the pricing team.
  • Ensure solution is scalable and meets overall business requirements, translate business requirements into technical specifications and identify/document functional gaps. 
  • Participate in solution architecture reviews with project teams prior to design and development activities. 

Cross Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work in close collaboration with the offering teams to define the specifications for new product configurators and ensuring the integration within IT ecosystem.
  • Facilitation of, and direct involvement with content creation and data management enabling customers, partners, and internal / external stakeholders as appropriate to grow revenue and profitability. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance by effectively understanding and leveraging C1 functionality, configuration pricing logic, and price approval processes.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Supporting creation of various KPIs using PowerBi/Smartsheet tools for reporting and ad hoc engagement in improvement of other processes within the AE community

  • Understanding of C1 and related configurator tools
  • Understanding of the Data Centre industry
  • Good technical understanding and knowledge of the product to be supported
  • Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications
  • Technical and market knowledge of Thermal or Power products.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical or engineering systems teams
  • Previous experience with C1 tools is preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint is preferred. 
  • Experience with Smartsheet is preferred. 
  • English writing and presentation skills
