The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for providing immediate response to design-related production issues, managing the Product Lifecycle for Busbar designs, and improving Design for Manufacturability. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Identify and Cross-Functionally Coordinate Design for Manufacturability Improvements (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency)
- →Provide design support for issues discovered during production
- →Provide design support for supply chain constraints
- →Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
- →Ensure quality of ETO design before released to production
Requirements
~1 min read- 1-3+ years of experience in product design
- 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting
- Excellent communications skills – written & verbal
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability
- 1-3+ years of experience in Sheet Metal and Copper Design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- No special physical requirements
