Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and daily operational oversight for warehouse activities supporting the Pelzer, SC manufacturing operation. This position will ensure the safe, accurate, and timely movement of material while supporting production requirements, customer shipments, inventory accuracy, and continued business growth.
The Warehouse Supervisor will lead warehouse associates across key operational areas including Production Picking, Ship Loose Picking, Site Escalations, Sub-Assembly support, Receiving, and Material Movement. This role will work closely with Production, Materials, Planning, Logistics, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure daily priorities are clearly established and executed.
The successful candidate will be a visible floor leader who drives accountability, develops employees, maintains operational discipline, and responds effectively to changing priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership and supervision for daily P2 warehouse operations and assigned warehouse associates.
- Coordinate labor and resources across Production Picking, Ship Loose Picking, Site Escalations, Sub-Assembly support, Receiving, and Material Movement.
- Ensure material is picked, staged, issued, and delivered accurately and on time to support the production schedule.
- Establish clear daily priorities and ensure warehouse activities remain aligned with production and shipment requirements.
- Provide appropriate supervisory coverage across assigned shifts and support effective shift-to-shift handoffs.
- Maintain strong inventory control and ensure physical material movements are supported by accurate and timely system transactions.
- Monitor picking accuracy, shortages, material discrepancies, and inventory issues and drive timely corrective actions.
- Partner with Planning, Materials, Production, Logistics, and Quality teams to resolve material and operational constraints.
- Manage urgent site and production escalations while maintaining control of planned warehouse activities.
- Drive adherence to standard work, warehouse procedures, safety requirements, and established operational controls.
- Lead daily floor management activities, including workload allocation, employee assignments, performance follow-up, and escalation management.
- Coach and develop warehouse associates while maintaining clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and accountability.
- Support cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and corrective actions related to inventory accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow, warehouse layout, labor utilization, picking efficiency, and overall productivity.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and develop corrective actions where performance does not meet expectations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives as P2 production volume and operational complexity continue to increase.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
- Support additional warehouse and operational requirements as business needs evolve.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous warehouse, distribution, materials, logistics, or manufacturing experience required.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading warehouse operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, material movement, picking, receiving, and shipping processes.
- Experience working with ERP and/or warehouse management systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing production requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable while building a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and operational execution.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Planning, Materials, Logistics, Quality, and other supporting functions.
- Flexibility to support shift requirements, overtime, and changing business needs when required.
Key Measures of Success
Success in this position will be measured through safety performance, production support, picking execution, inventory accuracy, material availability, on-time delivery to production, escalation response, labor productivity, transaction accuracy, and adherence to standard work.
The Warehouse Supervisor will play a critical role in establishing a disciplined and scalable P2 warehouse operation capable of supporting increasing production volumes and the continued growth of the Pelzer campus.
