Algorithm Developer

As an Algorithm Developer at Via, you’ll join our R&D center in London, as part of the Core R&D group, which is responsible for developing and maintaining Via’s proprietary algorithms and the services that run them in production. The position requires deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software engineering methodologies and best practices. You will maintain and improve current algorithms and business logic, as well as develop new technical products and systems that support the various needs we have here at Via. • →Take full ownership of large and complex code base that implements Via’s core algorithm
• →Develop and maintain multiple mission critical services 
• →Immediate impact to Via’s thousands of daily passengers and clients around the world, like making our booking application respond to users significantly faster.
• →Work in close collaboration with devops teams and algorithms developers and researchers

• M.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Mathematics / similar field
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industry experience in backend development (Python)
• Experience with DevOps in cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, etc.) — strong advantage
• Experience in architecture and maintaining cloud systems — strong advantage
• Have a solid background in software engineering methodologies, such as git, CI/CD 
• Fast learner: you can quickly master concepts, disciplines and methods
• Team player: you work well with people, as well as by yourself
• Pragmatic: you know how to deconstruct a problem into few smaller problems
• Concise: you get stuff done, in a simple, elegant way.
