Performance Marketing Specialist

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Performance Marketing Specialist who takes ownership of measurable business outcomes, not just campaign activities.

This is an execution-focused role requiring direct involvement in Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, analytics, tracking, and conversion optimisation. You will own the performance of assigned client accounts across the entire customer journey, from ad campaigns and landing pages to conversions and lead quality.

As the primary owner of client growth, you will be expected to turn business objectives into clear strategies, execute campaigns, identify opportunities, and continuously improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the performance and growth of assigned client accounts.
  • Define, track, and improve key metrics such as CPL, CPA, ROAS, conversion rate, lead quality, and revenue contribution.
  • Translate client objectives into clear performance marketing strategies, roadmaps, and experiments.
  • Take accountability for results and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimise campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.
  • Work directly on campaign setup, account restructuring, targeting, bidding, budgeting, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Manage Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, Advantage+, lead-generation, and other relevant campaign types.
  • Monitor budget utilisation and allocate spend based on performance and business priorities.
  • Stay current with platform developments, including automation, broad match, audience signals, attribution changes, campaign-type updates, and advertising policies.
  • Use data to understand performance across the entire marketing funnel.
  • Work hands-on with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Set up and troubleshoot conversion tracking across advertising and analytics platforms.
  • Configure events, triggers, variables, data layers, and cross-platform tracking requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to build and maintain a reliable tracking infrastructure.
  • Own the customer journey from the initial ad interaction to the final conversion and lead outcome.
  • Identify performance gaps across landing pages, forms, conversion journeys, and tracking.
  • Analyse user behaviour and recommend improvements that increase conversion rates and lead quality.
  • Work with content, design, and development teams to implement and test conversion improvements.
  • Ensure campaign messaging, creatives, landing pages, and targeting remain aligned.
  • Build a structured test, learn, and scale approach across client accounts.
  • Plan and run A/B tests across creatives, messaging, landing pages, audiences, targeting, bidding strategies, and campaign structures.
  • Define clear hypotheses and success metrics before launching experiments.
  • Document learnings and turn successful experiments into repeatable playbooks.
  • Combine insights from GA4, advertising platforms, CRM systems, and backend data where available.
  • Go beyond reporting metrics to explain what is driving performance and what should happen next.
  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities using data.
  • Present clear performance narratives supported by actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a strategic performance partner to clients.
  • Independently lead performance reviews and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate insights, challenges, recommendations, and next steps.

Key Requirements

  • 4–5 years of experience in performance marketing, paid media, or growth marketing roles.
  • Advanced hands-on expertise in Google Ads, Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads.
  • Advanced experience implementing and troubleshooting tracking through Google Tag Manager.
  • Proven ability to improve CPL, CPA, ROAS, conversion rates, and lead quality.
  • Strong understanding of conversion funnels, CRO, attribution, and signal-based optimisation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in independently managing client relationships and senior stakeholder conversations.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a digital marketing or performance marketing agency.
  • Experience working with CRM data, offline conversion tracking, and lead-quality feedback.

Who This Role Is Not Suited For

  • Team leads who are no longer involved in hands-on campaign execution.
  • Task managers focused primarily on timelines and coordination.
  • Reporting-focused professionals without ownership of performance outcomes.
  • Account coordinators without strong paid media, analytics, and tracking expertise.
