Adult Congenital Heart Disease Physician | Department of Internal Medicine | M06547

The candidate will provide comprehensive care in the inpatient and outpatient setting for adults with congenital heart disease regardless of severity of illness.  The candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including pediatric cardiologists, congenital and adult cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, advanced heart failure and transplant specialists, hepatologists, social workers, nurses, and others.  The candidate will participate in outreach clinics and in research and educational activities related to ACHD, such as publishing papers, presenting at conferences, teaching fellows and residents, and mentoring students.  The candidate will assist in the development of an ACHD fellowship. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a board certified cardiologist and board certified/board eligible in Adult Congenital Heart Disease
• Must be clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for an academic appointment
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work with a large multi-disciplinary program
• Must participate in teaching and fellowship programs
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Virginia
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
