Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Teaching: Will contribute to the clinical supervision and education of residents, medical students, genetic counseling graduate students, and ancillary staff. Didactic teaching in MS Genetic Counseling Program and VCU School of Medicine.
- →Research: Will engage in scholarship through presentations at national meetings, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and active participation in appropriate professional organizations.
- →Service: Will participate in regional and national conferences with clinical colleagues. Participation in departmental, institutional and national committees is encouraged, when appropriate.
- →Clinical: Active participation as a clinician in various clinics and other settings, including telemedicine, and sharing call and consultative responsibilities with other Clinical Genetics physicians. VCU Clinical Genetics sees patients across the lifespan, from preconception to end of life. Candidates can expect to see both pediatric and adult patients. Majority of clinical appointment will be conducted on our downtown Richmond campus in both our adult outpatient pavilion and our pediatric outpatient pavilion.
Requirements
~1 min read- Clinical and teaching skills, including teaching and training of graduate and medical students.
- MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Board eligibility/certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).
- Candidates must be qualified for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- AMBGG certification in Clinical Biochemical Genetics preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience and an interest and/or ability in research and scholarly activity as displayed through publication in professional journals and presentations at national meetings.
