Post-Doctoral Fellowship, SOM, Neurosurgery

• →Conduct cellular, molecular, and physiological assays to decipher the pathology of neurological injury and identify pathways for novel treatment approaches.
• →Prepare experimental models and specimens and assist in bioanalyses and interpretation of neuroimaging and behavioral assessments.
• →Participate in experimental protocols and data analysis.
• →Present research at local and national/international meetings and draft manuscripts for publication.
• →Participate in general lab meetings.
• →Other responsibilities (inventory management, equipment maintenance, lab safety, vivarium duties).

Qualifications:

• Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree in neuroscience, pharmacology and toxicology, or related disciplines.
• Prior experience working with molecular biology, protein biochemistry, fluid hydrodynamics, and traumatic brain injury, is desirable.

• Demonstrated publication track record with one or more first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals for those with 1 year or more of prior postdoctoral training.
• Hands on experience with various molecular biology, protein chemistry, immunohistochemistry, and cell biology techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Ability to train, evaluate and supervise students and peer mentor lab assistants.
