Responsibilities

  • →Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of Hepatology. Faculty member will provide guidance and mentorship to Residents and Chief Residents in GI.
  • →Research: Faculty member will have experience in securing revenue through grants and contracts and will serve as a research mentor to other members of the division and the Department of Pediatrics.
  • →Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional development through journal review, conference presentations.
  • →Clinical: Faculty member will provide clinical support within the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in support of clinical mission of CHoR of VCU Health System.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology
  • Experience in both pediatric hepatology and transplantation.
  • Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
  • Experience with education of house staff, medical students, and others
  • Experience with research
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sub-board and or additional graduate degree
  • Experience with advocacy at local, state, and national levels
  • Success in generating revenue (grants/contracts)
