Vascular Surgeon, Department of Surgery (M89546)

• →Teaching: The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in all areas of Vascular Surgery, with opportunities to assist in the multidisciplinary teaching of fellows and residents in Vascular and General Surgery, Interventional Cardiology and Radiology, as well as Cardiothoracic Surgery
• →Research: Faculty member will establish clinical research projects with a record of publication in referenced journals and external funding. They are expected to develop interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance the research program at VCU
• →Service: Faculty will serve on departmental and/or university committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, such as reviewer, conference organizer, etc
• →Clinical: Faculty member will provide clinical care for Vascular Surgery patients at VCU Medical Center, a Level I academic teaching facility. They will be responsible for the development of an active surgical practice with the support of the Division and Department’s leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Vascular Surgery
• Commitment to Clinical or Basic Science Research
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification- Eligibility for RPVI (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation)
• Record of external funding or proposal submissions to obtain funding
