Drill Fitters/Mechanical Technician

Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint a Mechanic within the Maintenance Department.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Drill Rig Mechanic to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate shall be involved in maintenance activities such as trouble shooting, repairing, and installation of parts to minimize downtime and improve overall rig productivity.

With our base in the Al Joshwan mountain range at a comfortable 1,750m above sea level, this position is open to people ready for adventure who thrive in achieving high performance in themselves and in delivering high quality test results.

• Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are maintained.
• Carry out inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on Surface and Underground exploration drill rigs - Epiroc Boyles and Diamec PHC Diagnose and repair complex electro-hydraulic faults on underground drill rigs. Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Conducting regular inspections of drilling equipment to identify potential issues and performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment to fabricate or repair components.
• Operate computerized testing equipment to identify faults and ensure equipment performance.
• Provide technical feedback to planners and reliability engineers to improve maintenance strategies and documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and work hours. 
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs are performed in line with company safety standards and OEM specifications.
• Supports the development and training of local nationals by providing mentorship, guidance and coaching, leading to their growth and development.
  
  QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Diploma or High School with equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years' of experience in Surface and Underground exploration drill rigs (Epiroc and Sandvik preferred).
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms is a plus (e.g., Service Manager, SAP, etc.).
• Good English communication skills (both oral and written).
• Willing to travel as required.
• Willing to work outside and/or in a shop environment.
• Standard First Aid Certification (Basic Safety Orientation is an asset).
• Experience working with RC, Diamond drill rigs; incl. Hydraulic, Electric and Mechanic systems
• Knowledge of compressed air systems, welding, electrical, fitting, design, and drilling;
