Certified Surgical First Assist, PRN - Lebanon ASC

The Certified Surgical First Assist (PRN) functions in an expanded role as a CST First Assistant to the surgeon. Responsibilities include patient positioning, prepping and draping, providing hemostasis, maintaining wound exposure, and handling sutures and tissue under the direction and supervision of the operating surgeon. When not functioning in the First Assist role, this position may perform duties as a Surgical Technologist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Certified Surgical Scrub Tech/First Assistant

• Assist surgeon on surgical procedures with hemodynamics, suturing, retracting

• Assist OR staff as requested

• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

• May perform as a Surgical Technologist when not First Assisting.
