About Wahed:
The global financial system wasn't built for everyone. For millions of people, its reliance on interest (riba) creates a barrier to managing money and building wealth without compromising their values.

At Wahed, we're changing that. We are a global fintech company on a mission to build a new financial system—one that is ethical, accessible, and entirely interest-free. From our offices across the globe, our team is building products that were once deemed impossible, from pioneering Shariah-compliant equity ETFs, creating riba-free alternatives to high yield savings accounts, to creating no-leverage real estate investments for truly interest-free income producing assets. If you're driven to solve complex problems and believe finance should empower, not exclude, join us in building a more equitable financial future.

Job Brief:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own the accounting and close process across Wahed’s multiple entities and currencies. You will run month-end closure to tight deadlines, manage reconciliations and treasury activity, support financial projections, and work closely with finance and business stakeholders around the world. This role suits someone who is precise, analytical, and enjoys being a dependable part of a collaborative global team.
Accounting & Books Closure
  • Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close across multiple entities, delivering accurate books within agreed monthly closure deadlines.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions and intercompany transactions.
  • Manage multi-currency accounting, including FX revaluation, translation and consolidation into group reporting currency.
  • Prepare the consolidation of books of account across group entities, including intercompany eliminations, and deliver consolidated financial statements.
  • Maintain a clean, well-documented general ledger and close checklist, and continuously improve the close timeline.
  • Reconciliations
  • Perform bank, intercompany, balance sheet and payment-platform reconciliations across entities and currencies.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly, escalating issues with clear analysis.
  • Treasury
  • Support daily cash positioning and liquidity monitoring across bank accounts, entities and regions.
  • Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts and coordinate intercompany funding and fund movements.
  • Monitor FX exposure and support decisions on currency conversions and payments.
  • Financial Projections & Analysis
  • Build and maintain financial projections, and support budgeting and forecasting with the FP&A team.
  • Analyse results against budget and prior periods, explaining key movements to management.
  • Stakeholder Management & Compliance
  • Work with global stakeholders across finance, operations, product, and external partners in multiple time zones.
  • Support statutory audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and automate manual accounting processes.
  • Qualification: CA Inter or MBA (Finance).
  • Experience: 3–5 years in accounting, with hands-on ownership of books closure.
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, including intercompany transactions and consolidation.
  • Treasury experience, including cash management, cash flow forecasting and FX.
  • Reconciliation experience across bank, intercompany and balance sheet accounts.
  • Financial projections: experience building forecasts and supporting budgeting.
  • Global exposure: experience working with international teams, entities or stakeholders.
  • Delivery: a proven track record of meeting monthly closure deadlines consistently.
  • Tools: strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience with accounting or ERP software.
  • Skills & Attributes
  • Analytical mindset: comfortable working with data to find the story behind the numbers.
  • Eye for detail: takes pride in accuracy and in getting things right the first time.
  • Team player: collaborative, supportive and willing to step in when the team needs it.
  • Clear communicator: able to explain accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ownership: organised, dependable and able to manage priorities under deadline pressure.
  • Why Join Wahed

At Wahed, you will help build the financial backbone of a fast-growing global fintech with a clear ethical purpose. You will gain broad exposure across entities, currencies and markets, work alongside a collaborative international team, and see the direct impact of your work on how we serve our customers.
