Waste Connections is hiring a hands-on Environmental Technician to support landfill gas systems, leachate collection, and compliance operations across two key sites.

• →Monitor and tune landfill gas well fields
• →Perform general well field maintenance (extend wells, pull pumps, run new lines)
• →Assist with leachate collection system operations
• →Conduct routine inspections and take well field readings
• →Support compliance tasks including monthly reports, site observations, and inspections
• →Collaborate with gas plant technicians and landfill operators on daily operations
• →Identify and mitigate environmental hazards (e.g., leachate seeps)
• →Lead or assist in repairs to reduce environmental risks
• →Track and support contractor work and post-audit corrections
• →Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams
• →Assist with ordering parts and understanding budgeting processes

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Mechanical or technical background a plus
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and schematics
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience with compliance systems (e.g., iAuditor) preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Leadership mindset with the ability to direct field repairs and contractors
