Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently seeking experienced, safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join our team at Heart of Florida Landfill. Prior landfill or waste experience is a big plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate who brings a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• 4:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Friday)
• 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Tuesday-Saturday)
• Shifts available

Hours: 55-60 hours per week

Pay: $24-$26+ per hour DOE

• →Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in landfill and railyard environments
• →Spread and compact trash using a Compactor
• →Apply daily cover using a Dozer
• →Excavate soil with an Excavator
• →Operate an Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) for material transport
• →Transport materials between loading, weighing, unloading, and disposal locations
• →Assist with general site and facility maintenance
• →Maintain awareness of personnel, traffic controls, environmental requirements, and safety policies
• →Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
• →Support rail and landfill operations as directed by site management

• Outdoor landfill and railyard environment
• Work near moving equipment and heavy machinery
• Required to follow all PPE and safety requirements
• Exposure to wet, humid, dusty, and muddy outdoor conditions
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly and performing duties on uneven terrain

Experience operating any or all of the following equipment is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of cumulative experience is required:

• Bulldozer
• Landfill Compactor
• Articulated Dump Truck (ADT)
• Reach Stacker / Rail King
• Excavator
• Motorgrader
