Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Fleet, Diesel Mechanic B (Heavy-Duty Fleet Technician) to join our maintenance team in Fort Pierce, FL.

This isn’t a light-duty automotive mechanic position. You’ll work on a fleet of heavy-duty commercial refuse trucks and support equipment, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG-powered vehicles.

• →Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy-duty commercial trucks.
• →Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• →Complete repairs identified through Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
• →Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• →Use electronic and computer diagnostic equipment to identify problems.
• →Read and follow manufacturer service manuals and repair specifications.
• →Identify potential mechanical issues before they result in breakdowns or additional downtime.
• →Complete repair orders and document work accurately.
• →Communicate with drivers and management regarding truck condition and repair status.
• →Assist and provide technical guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop.
• →Follow Waste Pro and OSHA safety requirements.

* Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
* Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.
* Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor

You may be a great fit if you have experience working on garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, concrete/mixer trucks, tractor-trailers, construction equipment, heavy-duty vocational trucks, or other large commercial diesel equipment.

  CDL Class B is preferred, or you must be able to obtain one within 12 months of employment.

The job may require:

• Working around large commercial trucks, heavy equipment, vehicle traffic, noise, dirt, grease, chemicals, and residential waste.
• Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Walking, bending, crouching, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
• Entering and exiting commercial vehicle cabs throughout the workday.
• Lifting and handling tools, parts, and equipment weighing approximately 50–75 pounds.
• Properly using all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Performing occasional road calls in varying weather conditions.
