Firefighter

Job Announcement:

The City of Webster Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter.

Firefighters protect life and property by safely extinguishing fires and removing individuals from hazardous situations and assisting in fire prevention activities. Firefighters are involved in other emergency and non-emergency situations, such as inspections, maintenance of equipment and conducting other related duties. This position requires the ability to stay calm under pressure. Dependable attendance and teamwork are essential to success in this role. This position may require overtime.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A valid Texas Class C Driver's License
• TCFP Structure Fire Protection-Basic
• TDHS EMT- Basic (Advanced & Paramedic Preferred)

Special Requirements:

Must complete within 6 months of appointment: NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 training.

This is an Essential Services position, and the employee will be required to provide services in the course and scope of employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Webster's citizens per the City's Emergency Services Guidelines.

• Starting Salary range: $21.710-$23.723* +, up to an additional $5,291.00 with (FLSA OT) *based on working a regular 48/96 work schedule with FLSA OT (for assigned schedule) and Holiday Pay. Plus, up to $3,600 in incentive pay based on certification level.
