Senior Platform Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable and resilient platform solutions.
• Build and maintain robust platform infrastructure that supports multiple applications, services, and engineering teams.
• Design solutions capable of handling high traffic, large volumes of data, and complex distributed workloads.
• Drive the adoption of modern platform engineering principles, tools, and best practices.
• Develop scalable architectures for distributed systems, microservices, APIs, cloud-native applications, and infrastructure.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Establish standards for system design, deployment, observability, monitoring, security, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and product stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver effective platform solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and help build a strong engineering culture.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and design decisions for critical platform initiatives.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and security across platform systems.
• Drive automation and improve developer productivity through reusable tools, services, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues involving large-scale systems.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Platform Engineering.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating Large-Scale Systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, containers, and orchestration technologies.
• Experience designing systems capable of supporting high traffic and large-scale workloads.
• Strong understanding of system performance, capacity planning, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions and manage complex technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with distributed databases, messaging systems, caching technologies, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with security and compliance considerations in large-scale platforms.
• Previous experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.

Experience

• 5–12 years of relevant experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience working on complex, scalable, and business-critical systems.
