Weyerhaeuser Longview Lumber has two Millwright Apprentice openings. The successful candidates will work different shifts during the 3 ½ years (7200 hours) of training. This is a bargaining unit position in the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Woodworkers Lodge W536.  

Employees that are selected for the Apprenticeship Program will receive the apprenticeship rate of pay, or their current rate of pay, if higher, until such time that the apprenticeship rate exceeds their current rate.

Key Functions:

• Machine center troubleshooting, repair, assembly and preventive maintenance.
• Read blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications.
• Repair or replace chains, belt conveyors, gear boxes/drive chains, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Welding/cutting.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of six months of service with Weyerhaeuser.
• Must have the ability to attend and successfully complete classes as directed (an example of classes can be obtained from HR).
  Must successfully complete the selection steps:
• Submit application and updated/current resume by closing date. 
• Pass assessment.
• Pass review work history to include: safety record, performance evaluations, attendance, discipline record. 
• Pass Maintenance Interview.
• Sign commitment of the Apprentice Agreement by Apprentice, which may require payback in certain situations.

DISQUALIFICATION:

• If you self-disqualify from the Apprenticeship program after school enrollment or 30 calendar days, it will be considered a self-termination of employment from Weyerhaeuser.
• If the Company disqualifies you from the Apprenticeship program, you will return to your previous position.
  You are required to abide by all Company standards and policies.
