Planner/Scheduler

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Planner/Scheduler for the Arcadia Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility in Simsboro, Louisiana. Arcadia OSB is located in the Sportsman's Paradise of Lincoln Parish in north central Louisiana. It is situated near Ruston and Grambling, Louisiana, home to Louisiana Tech and Grambling State Universities. The mill is located 20 minutes west of Ruston, 45 minutes west of Monroe, 55 minutes east of Shreveport, and an hour south of the Louisiana/Arkansas state line. This is a salaried (exempt) first-line supervisory position reporting to the Maintenance Manager

Key functions:

• Working collaboratively with maintenance supervisors, planners, and maintenance technicians to populate the rolling maintenance work list at least 2 weeks in the future.

• Scheduling work based on priority, ease of completion, and parts availability.

• Coordinating with planners to ensure smaller work items are prepped.

• Ensuring shift maintenance technicians have work assigned.

• Following up on work completion and updating schedule accordingly.

• Ensuring that work not ready for completion does not get scheduled.

• Helping establish and then supervising the kitting process.

• Coordinating with the Storeroom Manager to ensure parts are received, inspected, and properly prepared for future work.

• Using computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources.

• Must have High School Diploma/GED or higher
• Must be safety conscious, self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills and work well with others in a team environment 
• Experience with SAP CMMS 
• Safety leader with passion for safety initiatives 
• Good working knowledge of equipment, preventative maintenance processes and down day activities 
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office suite 
• Strong oral and written communication skills 
• Exposure to purchasing related activities 
• Ability to lead people and promote teamwork 
• Excellent organizational and planning skills 
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimum supervision 
• Excellent problem-solving skills 
• Ability to establish positive relationships with leadership and hourly associates 
• Willingness to work any schedule, including weekend and holiday support as conditions require 
• Willingness to travel to other mills and/or locations for training as needed

What We Offer: 

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $62,884-$94,256 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5% of your eligible pay (unless you are enrolled in the defined benefit pension plan). 

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
