Sawmill Outfeed Forklift

Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking to fill a Sawmill Outfeed Forklift position at our Kalispell Lumber Facility.

Hourly pay rate: $27.00

Key functions

• Maintain the flow of units on the infeed of the planer to keep up with production pace
• Maintain a neat and organized yard and stacking lumber in neat rows
• Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections
• Performing maintenance on the forklift, including but not limited to maintaining fluids and fueling forklift
• Assist car loader as needed - plowing snow, and loading/unloading trucks
• Communicate with supervisor, other shifts and operators about problems that might arise
• When necessary, the planer forklift operator will assist with other production duties/positions in the sawmill and/or planer
   

• Forklift certificate required
• Minimum of one year of experience operating a forklift preferred
• Experience in a stud mill is a plus

Specific Skills

• A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production, and minimizing downtime is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment
• Tasks performed involve working with equipment and material that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment 
• Candidates must have the ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions, and have good hand eye coordination
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays if necessary
