Senior Analyst, Product Design

## The team you will be a part of: The Product Design team designs, validates and brings new products to market, designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Collaborates with internal partners to optimize designs for manufacturability. Uses CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings. ## This role in summary: Currently, we are seeking a highly driven and experienced candidate for a Senior Industrial Design opening to take project ownership and join our Design Team in Whirlpool of India Ltd-Gurugram. In this role, you will take full ownership of design projects from conception to commercialization. You will lead research, ideation, 3D CAD modeling, renderings, rapid prototyping, and high-fidelity visual presentations. Working closely with a variety of process partners, you will leverage your experience to influence marketing strategies, navigate manufacturing requirements, and solve engineering constraints. A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating direct, individual contributions to projects is required—specifically highlighting full products you have successfully developed and launched that are currently in the market. ## Your responsibilities will include: * End-to-End Ownership: Take full responsibility for industrial design projects, leading the design process from initial user research and vision to final execution and market launch. * Project Leadership: Lead project workflows and collaborate deeply with Business partners, Engineering, and Marketing teams to align on product roadmaps and ensure the design intent is maintained through to manufacturing. * Market-Ready Innovation: Create and promote category visions, advanced development, innovation programs, and go-to-market programs, ensuring products successfully transition from concept to the consumer's home. * Design DNA & Architecture: Define and uphold Whirlpool’s physical design DNA and platform architecture, ensuring brand consistency, form harmony, and visual premiumness across diverse categories. * Cross-Functional Synergy: Lead collaborations with design team and external stakeholders. * Asset Creation & Prototyping: Create high-quality assets ranging from conceptual sketches and CAD models to physical prototypes and animations. Lead rapid prototyping efforts targeting the right fidelity at the right time. * Strategic Storytelling: Build professional, impactful presentations and leverage strategic storytelling to effectively communicate design concepts and project milestones to senior leadership and stakeholders. * Process Optimization: Champion ID processes and develop design systems that guarantee a consistent application. Work in tandem with other designers to enable an efficient iterative design process that strives to lead the industry's product portfolio. * Business Alignment: Understand business goals, making them meaningful and actionable for the project team while advocating strongly for the voice of the customer. ## Minimum requirements: * Bachelor's or Master’s in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Automobile Design. * 5 to 10 years of proven expertise in industrial design practice, planning, and executing product development. * Proven Market Success: A strong track record of having developed full products that have successfully launched and are currently available in the market. * Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading projects, scoping product and service projects strategically, and managing complex product decisions. * Strong Design / User Research / visual design skills required, including the use of a diverse set of tools (e.g., Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, Generative AI tools). * Strong project management and planning skills with a deep understanding of full product development and manufacturing processes. * Seasoned design expertise with deep insight into the newest methods, trends, and design operations. * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines and align the organization. * Strong decision-making abilities, self-motivation, and the ability to negotiate and adapt design intent practically through the engineering and manufacturing phases. * Passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions, and drive out-of-the-box ideas – an experimental mindset that embraces change and drives innovation. ## Preferred skills and experiences: * Strong decision-making abilities, self-motivation, and the ability to negotiate and adapt design intent practically through the engineering and manufacturing phases. * Passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions, and drive out-of-the-box ideas – an experimental mindset that embraces change and drives innovation. ## What we offer: Whirlpool has big plans for the future, just like you.
