The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Widener University invites applications for the position of adjunct professor of Mathematics. Applicants must have experience teaching and be dedicated to working collaboratively in a department and university that values diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching one-three sections (depending on need) of predominantly first year algebra and/or statistics courses in each of the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Availability to teach in person, during the day. Classes run for 50 minutes per day three days per week (MWF) starting on the hour between 8am and 3pm.
  • Preparing lessons/course material for each course following the syllabi/learning goals outlined by the course.
  • Keeping up to date grades and attendance in the University’s Learning Management System (Canvas).
  • Holding at least 1 office hour per week per course taught.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD or PhD in Mathematics or closely related majors
  • Previous teaching experience and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling
