As the Senior Accountant / Team Leader, your role will involve mentoring junior staff and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to our clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public accounting, strong technical skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with their team and our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Train junior accountants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Delegate and review tasks of their team members.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax and financial reporting
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team
  • Enjoys being client-facing, confident dealing directly with clients and technically sound
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero and Karbon is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
